Introduction: Frontiers Canada is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of our donors, members, volunteers, employees, website visitors and any other persons about or from whom we collect personal information. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws.

Collection of Personal Information: We may collect personal information, including, but not limited to names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers etc., when individuals interact with us through our website, events, application processes or other activities. We may also collect payment information, such as credit card numbers, the card’s expiration date, and other billing information if you are a donor, and chequing account information if you are an employee or volunteer with Frontiers Canada.

We may collect information from others with your consent, or as authorized by law (e.g., for references or background checks during the application phase).

We ensure that third parties have appropriate safeguards in place to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information.

We share members’ and volunteers’ personal information with our International Office for oversight and crisis management purposes, and to keep members informed on events, training, etc.
We share members’ and volunteers’ personal information with our insurance providers, and HRIS (human resources information system).
We share our donors’ and members’ personal information with our accountants, our payroll administrator software and newsletter distribution software.

Consent: By providing your personal information to Frontiers Canada, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in the privacy policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at info@frontiers.ca. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, follow the instructions at the bottom of the email.

Access And Correction: You have the right to access your personal information by Frontiers Canada and request corrections if necessary. To make such a request, please contact us at info@frontiers.ca.

Security Measures: We implement appropriate physical, technical, and administrative security measures (Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol, zero knowledge file encryption, firewalls and restricted access to files with personal information) to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Payment information is accessible only by authorized individuals to process this information.

Breach Notification: If any unauthorized access of personal information happens, we will report the breach as soon as possible after an incident occurs and will maintain a record of all security incidents.

Retention Period: Personal information will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with legal and operational requirements. You have the right to request for your personal data to be erased (except for legal reasons) when it’s no longer necessary for us to retain it.
