From the Executive Director
February 29, 2016
I am excited to write to you as the new Executive Director for Frontiers Canada. Many have covered this leadership transition process in prayer, and God’s blessing has been easy to see. We give thanks for the service of the previous director (2011-2015) with his pioneering strengths, and I am honoured to come after his excellent leadership and move us forward in all God has for us.
Four years ago I had to leave the Muslim world with my wife and three sons. We parted ways with bumpy rickshaw rides, our pet rooster “Kentucky”, and noisy prayer calls from innumerable mosques. It tore our hearts apart to say goodbye to neighbours, friends, and teammates. It was a great privilege to be a light among precious Muslims in a challenging unreached city. Our hearts never fully left that home.
But God had work for us as senders. It was my joy then to become the Mobilization Director for the Canadian team. I am eager now to continue serving the Canadian Church and our field members with my heart for mobilizing new workers. I accept this appointment with excitement, as well as a deep awareness of my need for grace. Would you pray for me to lead with courage, humility, and an understanding heart?
Frontiers Canada has entered a new season of growth in home staff, field members, and finances. We are invigorated by our vision to see twenty long-term workers sent out over the next four years. We believe this is a God-sized vision, and we are bolstered by His promise to do “beyond what we ask or think.”
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to, “with love and respect, invite all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus.”
